Hi there! So, first post, at the last minute as usual (well, for me, not for you).
I was a bit confused when I decided to take on this challenge, and this is actually the third card I made for it. Even now, I am reading more into the challenge than I saw to begin with. At first I thought it was a white on white embossing challenge. When I first read that I thought, ok, greyscale. Because what is grey but a shade of white? Challenge parameters satisfied (or so I thought).
And then I went back to look at it again, and for some reason I thought I could satisfy it by using some clear sparkle embossing powder on top of the dry(-ish) embossing. Which I then highlighted with some pink ink, I wasn’t crazy about the result, so I looked at the challenge post again and thought for a bit. Then, I finally watched the included challenge video. Face palm. I had all the challenge parameters wrong! That neither one of the ones I’d already worked on were a fit. So I took a good look at the challenge image, and saw the title of the challenge, white on white embossing and realized that I’d been going about it all wrong! OMG!
I looked for an embossing folder that I liked for this project. I decided on Altenew’s Hello Beautiful 3D Embossing Folder. Not too busy, not too plain. And then I remembered that I had this awesome Opal (toner) foil from Deco Foil. I figured that I was all done, having used white on white embossing, as well as using Heidi Swapp Honeycomb Gold Foil. I decided on splatters of Altenew Antique Silver and Iridescent Ink Sprays for the background. Since I wanted a frame, I looked at the Altenew Gilded Glitter Cardstock pack for the best fit to match the rest of the card. I decided on either the Smoky Topaz or Quartz, not exactly sure which one it is, whichever is lighter.
I think you can guess what happens next. . . I took yet another loom at the challenge page. And . . . saw that the video was titled color challenge. Aye carumba! I still didn’t hit the mark!
After all of these missteps, I’m having a hell of a time getting the darn thing working. I watched all these YouTube videos about 13 – 20 – 60 minutes to get a blog up and running, and looking at the instructions online (even though I have a background in tech), I swear they’re lying! I finally caved and asked my (SSD) husband for help. He says it took him four hours to get it working, and that’s only as long as the traffic isn’t too crazy. He says it’ll fail if there’s 1000’s of visitors at the same time. Hahahaha, I told him no worries, that’s not going to happen, well, ever. ROFL. . .
